On a bit of a serious note, due to recent revelations with the football, I have received an email tonight from Archery GB, regarding child protection and safeguarding policies..
Due to the fact that the club coaches are the only people required to be DBS (CRB) checked and hold safeguarding qualifications, any children and vulnerable adults are required to have a carer, parent or guardian with them at all times. Unaccompanied children and vulnerable adults will not be allowed to be at the club for that session.
Further restrictions will be put in place in the near future once the safeguarding polices are updated and put in place.
Sounds like something similar will be happening with every sports club in the country to maintain the safety of vulnerable members.
