  • Walton Street Leisure Centre - Hull City Council, has decided that the leisure center, is beyond economic repair, needing a minimum of £400,000 to bring it up to minimum specifications and so will no longer spend money on the building. Therefore they will be repossessing the building. Due to contractual commitments, the handback will be in May 2023.
  • The Charity and the Archery Club - With the center being run as a charity, it cannot just be closed. It has to be asset-stripped and everything, including any money it has in the bank, has to be donated to a similar charity. As much as I am a trustee of the charity, my first priority is for the archery club. As our club has one of the contracts with the center, Hull City Council has agreed to help re-home us. They are going to approach The Tigers Trust (formally the Airco Arena) further down Walton Street with regards to us moving into there. To sweeten the pot for us, they will be given the lion's share of the money in the center's bank account. This is to adapt the new premises for our needs. Obviously, this means the rent will be more expensive, so we will need to recruit more members to cover the extended costs. This will increase the morale of the club. We have the potential to become the city's biggest and best indoor club. At the moment the Tigers Trust isn't guaranteed but the Council is pushing it for us, because of members being from the area.
  • Committee Members - Looking for volunteers from our active members.
We need someone to take on the role of:
    • Safeguarding Officer.
    • Records Officer.
    • Vice Chairperson
Safeguarding will need training and a DBS, which the club will arrange.
