Update on Future

Hi All Myself, Katie and Michelle Williamson from Hull City Council visited the Tigers Trust venue yesterday (26th March 2024). As much as the venue is plenty big enough, the problems would be:
  • The price of £40 per hour (£80 a week / £320 a month), would at our current membership numbers mean doubling the price, which is ridiculous. We would need to seriously increase our membership numbers, which with our current amount of equipment would be hard, but not impossible.
  • Isolating an area to contain arrows keeping other users of the centre. There would be no way of safely mounting nets to protect people, or the walls in case of a miss. Again this is not impossible but would incur a cost.
  • There is no storage for our equipment which is already substantial and would need to be increased, especially if we were to use the centre to its best potential. I am unsure how we would get around this.
  • Hours of use. The hours and times/days we would open could not be guaranteed, especially in a winter when outdoor sports are moved indoors and the place gets busier.
An idea was put forward regarding us moving the club outdoors, but we would still face initial problems with the safety at venues, and securing storage. Plus outdoor shoots are weather dependant and really suck in winter. If anyone has any suggestions regarding an alternative indoor venue, it would be appreciated if you could let me know as these problems are going to potentially force us to close.
